If love Dang Toasted Coconut Chips as much as I do, you will love this recipe. Why go through the trouble of making your own? Because it’s less expensive, super easy, and organic.
Let’s compare: A 7 oz bag of organic coconut flakes is ~ $4. A 3 oz bag of Dang Toasted Coconut Chips is ~ $5. If you make your own (it’s easy, I swear), it’s 1/3rd the cost for a product that is ORGANIC. I use the “Let’s Do… Organic” brand. Just make sure you buy the flakes (not the shredded coconut).
This is a great snack by itself, or makes some awesome trail mix combined with seeds and nuts.
Ingredients:
- 7 oz bag of organic coconut flakes
- 2 Tb organic maple syrup
- 1 tsp sea salt
Process:
Preheat the oven to 350 F.
Spread the coconut out on a large baking tray. Drizzle with maple syrup and mix it around with clean hands to coat evenly. Then sprinkle with sea salt.
Bake at 350 F for 3-5 minutes, until the coconut browns just a little. Remove from the oven, give it a stir, and let it cool on the tray. Enjoy!
