Dairy-free Banana Nut Milkshake

This hits the spot when you want a semi-sweet milkshake, sans milk. The hemp provides a good amount of omega fatty acids, protein and fiber. Cashew butter provides some added healthy fats and minerals.

Ingredients:

  • 4 Tb hemp hearts
  • 2 scoops Vital Proteins collagen* (the blue canister)
  • 2 Tb nut butter (cashew, almond etc) OR 1/4 cup whole, raw nuts**
  • 1 banana
  • 1-2 pitted dates
  • 1/2 tsp gluten-free vanilla extract
  • 2 c filtered water
  • 2 c ice

*You can substitute any plain, unflavored protein powder, but avoid flavored or sweetened ones.

**ideally when you’re using whole nuts, it’s best to soak them in filtered water with a pinch of salt for 4-8 hours. Drain and rinse before adding to your blender.

  • Process:Blend all ingredients until smooth in a Vitamix or similar. Enjoy cold.
